Folksmoot: Viking Raid Weekend is a Norse living history and Viking reenactment event held in the green fields and woodlands of Charlton, Massachusetts. Set during the late 8th century around 800 CE, this immersive weekend invites participants to step into the world of early Viking-age Scandinavia and experience daily life, community, and combat as it may have been lived over a thousand years ago in New England.

Begin your journey at Folksmoot as the community gathers to prepare for the voyage ahead, assembling era-appropriate kit and dress as Norsemen ready to set sail. Once encampment is raised, life in the camp takes hold the hearth must stay lit, the cooking pot kept full, and the work of the camp carried on throughout the weekend.

Train, Raid, and Live Like a Viking

For those who feel the call of glory, Folksmoot offers a safe and immersive Viking combat system where participants train with sword and shield, learn the use of period-appropriate weapons and armor, and prepare together for the raid. Through sparring, drills, and shared experience, warriors ready themselves to storm the Abbey and fight for their Jarl in a true Viking raid reenactment.
